Acne Treatment

Acne Treatment Canada

Tired of trying one acne treatment after another?

When you wake up to a face full of pimples, it's hard to look forward to the rest of your day. This is why Dr. Murad is working hard everyday to create skin treatments - that involve acne treatment - to help you achieve a healthy face and a healthy outlook.

Dr. Murad: "Every morning I wake up and can't wait to get to the office. I find the whole problem-solving process of developing a new concept, and taking it through all the steps to reality, profoundly satisfying. And I can't think of a more rewarding life than being able to help my patients, as well as the general public, become healthier and happier."

How it All Began

Howard Murad grew up in Queens, New York. After earning his degree at the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, he attended the University of California at Irvine Medical School. He completed his rotating internship back in New York at Queens Hospital.

From there, Dr. Murad joined the service as a General Medical Officer for the United States Army. He was stationed first in Vietnam in 1967 where he received the Bronze Star, followed by Ft. Lewis, Washington a year later. From 1969 to 1972, he completed his dermatology residency at the Veteran's Administration Hospital at UCLA.

Growth of Dermatology Practice

Newly minted as a dermatologist (a doctor that treats skin disorders or skin diseases), the young Dr. Murad opened his first practice in Westchester, California in 1972. Starting out with a 400 square foot office of two small rooms, a single nurse and one patient his first week, he worked hard to build his practice, person by person. By the time he moved his offices to his existing location in the Southern California community of El Segundo in 1995, Dr. Murad had built a patient base of over 40,000 people.

Today

Dr. Murad continues to be a leader in the world of Dermatology and personal health with groundbreaking formulas and inspired skincare solutions for total wellness.

The famed dermatologist is sharing the Murad Miracle with Murad Canada. Whatever your age, gender or skin type, you can benefit from one of Murad's patented products or complete regimens.

The Murad Difference

There are also a number of skin conditions that resemble acne such as, eczema, perioral dermatitis and folliculitis. While they may not involve all of the factors that cause real acne, they do have one thing in common – inflammation. The good news is that Murad acne treatment products address ALL of the factors of acne and skin breakouts, reducing cell build-up, excess oil and inflammation.

Every product in Murad's acne treatment line includes three key ingredients that form the Murad Recipe: antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and hydrating agents, along with acne medication, which work together to provide the best environment for achieving optimal skin health.

In independent clinical studies, more than 90% of the patients reduced their acne blemishes in only 4 weeks with Dr. Murad's Acne Complex Kit. In 3 simple steps, powerful acne-fighters target blemishes and prevent future breakouts, while natural extracts calm and cool red, irritated skin regardless of the skin disorder.

In keeping with Murad's inclusive health™ philosophy, the acne treatment line also features a patented internal herbal remedy to treat acne breakouts from the inside. So, whether you have real acne or something that just looks like acne, Murad can put you on the path to healthy, beautiful skin with Acne Complex acne treatment.

The secret to perfect skin isn't so secret. The secret, or rather the science, behind all Murad products is The Water Principle. This is the method of keeping water in the cells for health and beauty.

5 of the BEST things to do about acne

1. Proper daily skin care regimen with:
Exfoliants and pore cleansers (Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Retinol) to deep clean and slough off pore-clogging dead skin cells and debris.
-Antibacterials (Triclosan) to sterilize, clear up and prevent future infection.
-Anti-inflammatories (Licorice Extract, Allantoin) to diminish painful irritation and redness.
-Vitamin C and other antioxidants to prevent and treat unwanted residual pigment.

2. Environmental protection from the outside:
Daily use of full-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen protection to prevent hyperpigmentation and to preserve skin elasticity.
Sun exposure may temporarily mask the appearance of acne and large pores because the sun causes the skin to swell. The internal damage that occurs is much worse however, due to the collagen damage from UV rays. Once the collagen and elastic fibers in the dermis are damaged, the skin looses its elasticity and the pores look larger.

3. Murad Internal Skincare® Supplement protection from the inside:
-Pure Skin® Skin Clarifying Tablets are clinically proven to reduce acne breakouts by 55% in six weeks from the inside with:
-Vitamin A to minimize production of excess pore-clogging skin cells.
-B-complex vitamins to encourage tissue repair.
-Zinc to aid cell repair and reduce inflammation.
-Antioxidants such as Grape Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E to neutralize aging free radical damage.

4. Conscientious hygiene: Frequent changing of pillow cases and towels, replacing makeup sponges and sterilizing makeup brushes helps prevent bacteria from flourishing.

5. Professional care: Regular facials by a qualified esthetician can help keep pores clean with careful extraction as well as AHA Rapid Exfoliator® acne treatments.
Although there is no single or absolute cause for acne, hormones, stress and genetics play important roles.

4 of the WORST things to do about acne

1. Drying products: Alcohol-based astringents and harsh cleansers can actually worsen acne. When dehydrated, acne-prone skin 'compensates' by producing even more oil.
2. Picking: No matter how tempting, squeezing blemishes cannot only prolong the infection but cause permanent scarring.
3. Scrubbing too hard: Treating acne-inflamed skin too roughly or with scalding hot water may help spread the infection.
4. Greasy cosmetics: Acne Cosmetica is the term for acne caused by oily makeups that clog the pores of the skin.
